Vietnam Book Day - April 21 has become an annual cultural activity and has always been well received by the community. Since 2014, the Center for Informatics and Computing has coordinated with relevant units to organize the annual Vietnam Book Day, in order to join hands to improve reading culture, affirm and honor the value of books in spiritual life, as well as in scientific and technological research activities.
 

On April 20, 2021, the Center for Informatics and Computing coordinated with the Institute of Mathematics and the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) to organize a Seminar and Book Exhibition to disseminate the values and ideas of the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2021.


Talk: Reading books in the digital age.

Under the theme "Reading in the digital age", the seminar drew the participation of poet Tran Dang Khoa - Vice Chairman of Vietnam Writers' Association, journalist Vinh Quyen - former Deputy General Director of National Assembly Television, editor Khanh Ly - Nha Nam Publishing House, and journalist My Tra - Voice of Vietnam e-newspaper. The event focused on evoking and fostering a passion for reading to discover knowledge for book lovers, especially young people. Besides, readers also heard interesting stories about poet Tran Dang Khoa's life of writing poetry, and poems and experiences on effective reading methods, especially in the information technology era.

The book exhibition introduced monographs of scientists from Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, specialized journals in the field of science and technology, Pi Magazine, USTH's book booth, publications by Nha Nam Publishing House and the photo book series "Truong Sa - Where we go" by Journalist My Tra.
