- Research, development, and application of qualitative and quantitative analytical methods with high sensitivity and accuracy in chemical analysis;
- Research, development, and application of analytical methods integrated with the Internet of Things (IoT);
- Research, development, and application of electrochemical analytical methods in the field of energy storage and conversion;
- Research, development, and application of technologies for environmental pollution treatment;
- Research and fabrication of advanced materials for use in environmental analysis and treatment;
- Consulting, assessment, and technology transfer in analytical chemistry and environmental pollution treatment;
- Postgraduate training and international collaboration in the fields of analytical and environmental chemistry.
4. Main achievements:
- Developed analytical methods for the quantification and speciation of toxic heavy metals—such as mercury, arsenic, lead, cadmium, and tin—in biological samples, which serve in the diagnosis and treatment of over 1,000 patients with heavy metal poisoning.
- Participated in the development of 24 Vietnamese standards for the analysis of precious and rare metal elements.
- Researched production technology for steel and non-fired building materials from red sludge waste generated during aluminum production in the Central Highlands.
- Investigated technological solutions for converting red sludge into useful products.
- Contributed to evaluating the causes of abnormal seafood mortality in several coastal provinces of Central Vietnam.
- Researched and developed an analytical system for trace mercury (Hg) detection to support environmental monitoring and food safety control.
- Participated in research assessing environmental pollution levels and proposing remedial measures following the fire incident at Rang Dong Fluorescent Lamp Joint Stock Company.
- Contributed to the analysis of biological samples in the tin poisoning incident at Quang Phong Co., Ltd.
- Researched and developed an analytical system for online detection of gas products from electrochemical reactions (CO2 reduction, NO3- reduction, water spliting…)
