  1. Research areas:

Materials for storage and energy conversion:

-   Research on synthesis of conducting polymer hybrid materials for application as cathode materials for secondary power sources, anode electrodes for microbial fuel cells, synthesis of catalytic electrode materials for photoelectrochemical water splitting process. Research on manufacturing colloidal electrolyte for sealed lead acid batteries.

Material orientation:

  • Synthesis of electrochemical and photoelectrochemical catalyst materials, fabrication of pH electrodes, electrochemical sensors. Research on synthesis of nanocomposite materials based on conducting polymers and agricultural by-products used as adsorbent materials.
  • Synthesis of the nano-structured porous materials applied in catalysis, adsorption and environmental treatment.
  • Synthesis of environmentally benign nano-structured additives for flame retardants preparation.

   Environment orientation:

- Treatment of wastewater by electrochemical method, photoelectrochemical methods, adsorption methods and using green ferrate (VI) oxidant.

- Development of the technologies and equipments for the contaminants removal from air and water.

  • Mearsure and simulate impedance, investigate of corrosion phenomena, measure the conductivity of materials, evaluate quality of batteries, and electrochemical characterization of organic compounds.

 Electrochemical synthesis of organic compounds:

- Some biologically active organic compounds such as bibenzopyran and benzopyran have anti-cancer activity.

 Research cooperation

  • Mearsure and simulate impedance, investigate of corrosion phenomena, measure the conductivity of materials, evaluate quality of batteries.
  1. Main achievements:

- Produce rechargeable battery Zn – polyaniline 1.2 V/ 100 mA/h.

- Successful synthesis of electrode materials for microbial fuel cells, catalytic electrode materials for photoelectrochemical water splitting and nanocomposites based on conductive polymers and agricultural by-products applied for heavy metals treatment in water.

- Fabrication of pH electrodes, electrochemical sensors to determine nitrite, cyanide, and Arsenic (III)

- Successfully fabricated equipment to treat Arsenic in groundwater by electrocoagulation method.

- Successfully fabricated equipment to synthesize ferrate solution by electrochemical method, ferrate solution is used to treat toxic dyes in textile wastewater.

- Successful heterogenization of HPA heteropoly acid material, a commercialized catalyst with α-Keggin structure, applies as heterogeneous catalyst for acid-catalyzed reactions with the presence of polar reactants or solvents.

- Successful manufacture of rescue tools such as helmets, protective boots, protective gloves, anti-poison masks for firefighter with high flame resistibility and good mechanical properties using high efficiency, environmentally friendly, nano-structured additives. 

- Successful manufacture and commercialization of GFLife® household water filter using nanotechnology for cleaning water demands of families, schools, hospitals, workshops,… with high quality and adaptable price.
